State of the Roman World at the Birth of Christ

Being the first seven chapters of the work entitled "The Beginnings of Christianity" written by Professor Fisher. In the preface, he states this work is an attempt to describe the ancient Roman world, including both heathen and Jewish society, into which Christianity entered, and in which it first established itself. These chapters, standing alone, constitute a historical introduction to the study of the Apostolic Age.
